Electronic online system for manuscript and review submissions now available for women’s health issues
Article Outline
Effective January 1, 2007, the Editorial Office of Women’s Health Issues began using the electronic online submission system provided by our publisher, Elsevier, Inc. The use of this system will streamline and improve all aspects of manuscript handling for the journal. The system will be used by both authors and reviewers.
Website: http://ees.elsevier.com/whi/
For Authors: If you wish to submit a manuscript to be considered for publication, you must do so via the Journal’s submission/peer-review website (http://ees.elsevier.com/whi). You will be asked to create a unique login ID (free). Once created, your login stays in the system permanently. Please follow the instructions regarding file format submission of your manuscript, abstract, tables, and figures. We ask that you submit your manuscript (abstract through references and any figure legends) as a Microsoft® Office Word file, with the title page saved as a separate file. Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate files. If you have multiple figures, consider compressing them into one .zip file for easier upload (see www.WinZip.com). A tutorial for authors is available at the website and online technical assistance provided by Elsevier is available (authorsupport@elsevier.com). You will be able to track the status of your manuscript throughout the entire editorial process. You will also communicate with the Editorial Office via the website.
For Reviewers: When you agree to review a manuscript for us, you will access the blinded Adobe Reader® PDF copy of the manuscript via the website. You will be asked to create a unique login ID (free). Once created, your login stays in the system permanently. Please follow the instructions regarding how to submit your review. A tutorial for reviewers is available at the website and online technical assistance provided by Elsevier is available (reviewersupport@elsevier.com). In the event a manuscript you review is revised and resubmitted, you will be notified and asked to re-review, also using the online system. You will also communicate with the Editorial Office via the website.
If you are both an author and a reviewer for us, your unique login ID will be used for both roles.
Please note that you must have the free Adobe Reader® installed on your computer to use the system. You may download the latest version at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
We are grateful for the wonderful support provided to us by Elsevier, Inc., and hope that you find the online system as easy to use as we have. For technical questions, please use Elsevier’s online support system. For other questions, please contact D. Richard Mauery, Managing Editor, at WHIeditor@gwu.edu.
