Dr. Hughes conducted the study reported here while serving as Assistant Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Director of the Center for Research on Women with Disabilities at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Her research interests include depression, stress, abuse, self-esteem, and health promotion in the context of disability.
